What services do I offer?
We are different to Humanist Funerals. Humanist are atheists and cannot offer comfort about meeting our loved ones again, or even play ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams, the beauty of celebrants is we can offer a bespoke service, be it religious, semi religious or non-religious. Alison can download your music of your choice and arrange if you DO NOT want certain things to happen, like the curtain NOT to close, or no Family line up after the service.
Alison will meet with you after an initial phone call, normally within 24-48 hours, where she will offer a listening heart, to recall the stories of your loved one, and put you at ease over all aspects of the service. Alison will then endeavour to capture these stories and put them into a uniquely written service, which encompasses honour, dignity, respect, humour and sensitivity.
When most people think of funerals, they think of sadness, coffins, tissues in hand, feeling bad about what they should’ve said, or failed to find the words to say to that person while they were still living.
A living funeral, or a life celebration, is a chance to celebrate a person’s life while they are still around to share the stories and enjoy the gathering of loved ones and friends. The event itself can range from an afternoon tea to a full big party bash, like a wedding reception even.
Marriage ceremonies can be conducted by Alison, provided the couple go to the Registrars (with 2 witnesses) and sign the legal paperwork. Then another wedding ceremony can take place at a location of your choice and time, this way, you get exactly what you want at your service, a service that reflects your beliefs and wishes.
Renewal of Marriage Vows
Some couples would love to mark a special anniversary with renewing their vows, on their anniversary date perhaps, for 10th, 25th, or even 50th anniversary Alison offers a service unique to you, it may incorporate vows you said in the past, or maybe changed as much as you have grown as a couple. This is popular to allow families to be part of such a beautiful celebration also. Alison will meet with you, in your home and compose a service, bespoke to you and your family to reflect on the journey you have taken so far and your dreams of the journey ahead.
Baby Naming Ceremonies
Baby Naming Ceremonies is becoming increasingly popular as a way to mark the birth of a precious little one. It is a happy family occasion to celebrate in a way you want, when and where you want, a ceremony that reflects your values, beliefs and your family. It can be incorporated into a sibling’s birthday or other event to include the whole family.
Alison will visit you in your home to guide you, choosing music, readings, words you want on the day. For parents to give their promises to their child and for grandparents to offer words of wisdom if they so wish. A normal service lasts around 20-30 minutes and can be conducted from hotels to family homes and gardens. A Baby Naming certificate will be issued at the end of the service, which includes the significance of the baby’s name.
As we all are aware, 2020 has been a highly stressful year, but more so for families who have lost a loved and not been able to say their farewells as they would have liked. For 2020, Alison is offering a service, to be held in a place of your choice, as a memorial to your loved one, to allow your family to bid farewell in a way they have been denied due to restrictions. But as these are slowly being lifted and families can meet again, I offer a service to commemorate the life of your loved one, to include music, readings, poems and if any friends or family wish to say a few words also, Alison can assist with any help required.
We all know, they are pets, but they are also one of the family, sometimes the only family. And losing a pet can be as devastating to some as losing a loved one. Alison will meet with you to arrange all your needs at a place of your choice, to give a service for your beloved pet, no matter if cat, dog or horse, we are a nation of animal lovers and adults and children alike mourn the passing of a beloved pet. Alison will write a ceremony based on your stories of your pet’s antics and favourite walks, toys, quirks and relay these loving stories in a memorial of loving memories.
Please contact me for a free quote on all services.
At the end of all eulogies and ceremonies, Alison will gift a parchment copy of the service as a keepsake. Also, at 1st Christmas, Alison will send a card, to remind you that your loved ones are never forgotten.
